The Attribute Check
If you want to do something and there's a chance you might fail, the GM may ask you to roll an attribute check. Roll a d6 and add your relevant attribute score. The GM will specify which attribute applies, but you're welcome to suggest one. If you have a skill that might help you, tell the GM and add a +2 to the roll.
You want to roll equal to or higher than a target number (TN) set by the GM. The GM sets this number either by rolling an attribute check against you, or by selecting a TN based on the difficulty of your action. Attribute checks may also be referred to by the attribute they entail, such as a Smart check, or by the skill involved, such as a Lore check.
