When the Lords of Men made their oath to protect the realm together, they impressed their heralds into a massive xenolith made of numenic ore to magically seal their alliance on Midworld. The several-stories tall disc of stone was excavated from the shores of Nithaven and erected behind the throne of Moruin in Castle Moongarm as a symbol of the Lords' Alliance.

After Lord Gazreth declared the Decree of the One God, the Lords' Alliance was broken, which resulted in a crack in the Foundation Stone and a corruption of the magic that sealed it.
