Vulin of House Isithein is a Yevim cleric and devoted follower of Princess Nyn, the Queen Who Lives. Despite his frailty and meekness, Vulin's loyalty to the traditions of the High People is strong, and as a lifelong acolyte under the Intercessors, he possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of Muraian lore.

Born into House Isithein, Vulin studied among the Intercessors in the shadow of the God Tree. While his sister Imra chose to live among humans as is the way of House Valaris, Vulin immersed himself in the study of Yevim history, religion, and magic. His keen intellect and insatiable curiosity marked him as a rising star among the clerics of Muraius.

When the Fall shattered the Great Crystal and brought ruin to the Magic City, Vulin found himself adrift. He was reunited with his sister after years of dangerous journeys alone, and the two endeavored to aid the Prince in the early days of his rebellion, becoming his most trusted advisors. Despite the ruined world, Vulin has never lost faith in the prophecy of the Queen Who Lives. When Princess Nyn revealed herself and rallied the Returners to her banner at Fell Rock, Vulin was among the first to pledge his allegiance to her.

Now, as the Returners wage a desperate rebellion against the Arcadian Empire, Vulin serves as a spiritual advisor and loremaster to Princess Nyn.

Adventure Hook

Vulin is an excellent NPC for the party to consult with for knowledge related to the ancient lore and theology of the High People. His Guardian ethos also makes him a bastion for moral inquiry for the Queen Who Lives’ tough decisions.

Vulin is approached by a mysterious High Person druid claiming to be a survivor of House Phassa. The survivor offers to share the location of a hidden stronghold in the wilds of Talvi, filled with ancient knowledge and artifacts, but only if Vulin and the party help them complete a series of sacred trials to prove their worthiness.

Could this survivor be an impostor seeking to manipulate Vulin, or a genuine remnant of a forgotten House with secrets to reveal?
What trials await the party in the forest stronghold, and how might they test not only their skills but their loyalty to each other and the Yevim cause?
Might the knowledge and artifacts within the stronghold have the power to reshape the political landscape of the rebellion, for better or for worse?
