OSR+ 2024 in Brief

What were we up to in 2024? Well, it turns out a whole lot!

We Ran 60 Sessions (180+ Hours of Games)

Our four resident GMs (including myself) ran 60 sessions, roughly four to six per month, for a total of 180 hours of games, across many tables with a dozen or so players. And David DeWitt, OSR+'s Game Ops technician and Taskmaster, sat in about 95% of them. Get the man a beer!

You Created 136+ New Heroes

You created 136+ new heroes with the Character Creator, from fully fledged heroes in ongoing campaigns to randos in one-shots like TBD RPG or Dungeons & Flagons.

We Played Many, Many Worlds of OSR+

We explored the many worlds of OSR+, both new and old, from the magical labyrinth in The Great White North with tactical mastermind Jonnie Law, to the war-torn city of Idania in God Beyond the Portal with yours truly. We fought fanatical inquisitors in OSR+'s flagship campaign, A Quest of Queens, and discovered the void maleficence in its near-future sequel World of Ruin, run by voice-acting wunderkind Kris Parsons (who in fact ran 13 different accents in one session!). We even went on delightful murder sprees in The Contract with our unhinged, master improvisator Will Karafelis.

We Joined ArchoniaFest 2024

We had the opportunity to demo Faht Bottom Inn with the good folks at Shadows of Archonia during their virtual convention, ArchoniaFest 2024!

we watched 17 Movies (mostly horror, because courtney)

Our resident movie master and art director Courtney Staples introduced us to (and reacquainted us with) a slew of monthly movie screenings, including Midsommar, Radio Days, Conan the Barbarian, Cube, Get Out, Role Models, Sonic the Hedgehog, Hereditary, Mad Max, Bottoms, The Birdcage, Eurovision Song Contest, Alien, Nightmare on Elm Street, Fright Night, Cabin in the Woods, and The Witch!

Onward to 2025...

But the real work, as always, is ahead of us. We have so much planned for the year to come. Here's a few of the highlights.

• Early 2025, the completion of the Bestiary in the Core Rules, which will make OSR+ a system-complete fantasy RPG. The Bestiary features a Monster Maker very similar to the Character Creator on the site, in addition to 300+ classic creatures with stats and art to use in your campaigns.
• We'll begin working on the print editions of the Fantasy Core Rules and the Game Master's Guide.
• Throughout the year, we'll be unleashing the first deluge of material from our 500+ hours of actual play recordings on our YouTube channel.
