About The Lost Sea

The Lost Sea is dreaded by sailors for having a tendency to strand them in distant, unexpected lands whenever they attempt to cross it. The farther sailors travel into the Lost Sea, the less reliable their navigational instruments become. Its icy waters, which flow into the Northern Wastes to the north and the Ocean of Furies to the south divert ultimately into the Conamura Chaos, a miles-long whirlpool overwhelmed by deadly typhoons.

The perpetual twilight of the Lost Sea gives little solace to an atmosphere of psychic sorrow that hangs low over glaciers and still waters. Promulgated perhaps by the suffering of those creatures banished to the uttermost North, the thick, almost sentient fog hanging over the Lost Sea drives many who attempt to cross its frigid expanse into madness.

Adventure Hook

The Lost Sea is a great place to get the PCs disoriented and ship them off to faraway lands or lost continents. They can leave port at either Vanis or Farlas and end up in Ryuujinkei or perhaps even Tekunai by way of the strange mists that envelop the waters.
