Long have we wished to bring you into Avestar’s light. Long have we sought to find the last cleric of Abraxis.
—Lord Paimon to Fodel Bersk, in their first confrontation
Lord Paimon was once an honorable man who presided over Idania before The Fall. He and the cleric Fodel Bersk worked with the nobility of Idania to broker peace with the nascent Empire through an arranged marriage, but its failure led to the occupation of the province. When Lord Paimon opposed Lord Gazreth's Decree of the One God, he became the Empire's first casualty.
But for Lord Paimon, death was only the beginning; he was transformed at the Emperor's command by the Braziers in the Congress of Judges. There, his body was twisted by forbidden magics and he became an undead servant of the Empire. His mind shackled, Paimon now serves as an enforcer of the Inquisitors, bound to their will by the very ideology he fought against.
Despite his corruption, fragments of Lord Paimon remain buried within the walking cadaver. Paimon’s anguish manifests as flashes of defiance against the Inquisitors, or cryptic warnings to his victims, but these moments are fleeting, overshadowed by the Emperor’s control. To those who see him now, he is a shadow of his former self—a weapon forged from a broken soul.
