About Sirokos

The long road into the Valley of the Dead is known as Pilgrim’s Path, so named after the mythical acestic who walked across the Dune Sea to bear a gift to the Pharaohs of old. He was beset by many perils along the way and survived solely by the grace of his divine patrons. The Path cuts across the stony expanse that is Sirokos, where searing hot winds shred travelers to bone and the wandering dead known as the Ammuti are rumored to kidnap the doe-eyed and hopeful for rituals unknown and unspeakable.

Two wonders of the world persist at the heart of Sirokos: the forbidden crypt Al Kel Dekkash and the Valley of the Dead, where the Burning Pharaohs sleep.

Across the immense Devachan Chasm lie ancient shrines to the gods, where barely-human cults worship in perilous wastes. Beyond the arid steppes rises Syene, the City of Night, a deeply religious theocracy that is hostile to outsiders, and the last vestige of civilization before Sirokos stretches into the Dune Sea.

This treacherous desert ruin was once an illustrious paradise over which the Burning Pharaohs ruled.
