This illustrious company of treasure-hunting tomb raiders has outfits all over the world, and is always recruiting. Need an airship? Need a Strongman? The Retainer Masters promise it is not a pyramid scheme: You take the risk, and we outfit you with supplies, but a percentage of the profit goes back to your financiers.
The Retainers have a large presence in Arcanum, Arcadia, and Al Tufail, mostly because this is where you'll find the majority of old tombs.
As an enterprise, the Retainers operate as small companies, each with their own Retainer Masters who are beholden to their financiers and the larger Retainer organization that its headquarters somewhere in Doggerland. Like the mysterious Operators who run the Graybreakers, the Retainer Masters in Doggerland prefer to keep the peak of their operation secret from the rest of the world.
