About the Merrivale Islands

The Merrivale Isles are a series of archipelagos located south of Arcanum and east of Mordaine, where the waters of the White Sea and the Night's Ocean meet. The largest of these islands is Mariana Bay. The Good Ladies of Mariana Bay command the most powerful supernautical navy in the world, the Prim Rose buccaneers, from their fortress Queen Theodesta.

Farthest from Mariana Bay are the uncharted islands known as the Outer Rim, which are rumored to contain great treasures and unknown danger. This lawless region is lorded over by Black Banner pirates and frequently raided by fortune seekers from across the realms.

Supernautical Navies

Lodestone technology makes it possible for vessels to travel by sea and air, depending on prevailing weather conditions. Such naval forces are considered “supernautical.”
