About The Black Sea

The Black Sea's namesake comes from its impenetrable depths and starless, wintry skies. The uncharted waters of the Black Sea touch the shores of the Old Country, Nithaven, and the Dune Sea of Mamara. Captains that are knowledgeable enough to traverse the Black Sea are hard to come by, because the usual methods for charting a course on these waters are complicated by the fact that the Sea affords neither day- nor starlight.

All manner of nightmarish sea creature waits for unwary travelers in its depths, thus sailors tend to stay as close to the shores as possible, taking a long, circuitous route from coast to coast, for fear that crossing on open waters might lead to their being pulled beneath.

Adventure Hook

The party is employed to intercept precious cargo en route to Mamara by an enemy nation. The Black Sea offers the cover of perfect darkness, but what else waits for them if they divert the vessel across its ebon waters?
