About Ambion

Ambion is the academic nexus of the world, second only to the libraries that lie within the Magic City itself. At its heart is the Library of Ambion, an ancient repository of knowledge assembled over thousands of generations of human history. While the land of Ambion is mostly temperate countryside ungoverned by any specific Lord of Arcadia, it remains a crossroads of information trade for all who travel to it.

After The Fall, Ambion's government in the city Idol maintains relative independence from the goings-on of the Empire, given how valuable the Library is to the Emperor and his Governors. The guardians at the borders of Ambion often permit scholars from all over the world free access to and from the Library, and some believe there are rebels operating in Ambion.

Only the sages of Ambion, who devote their entire lives to the study of the Library's texts, know how to extract certain knowledge from its wealth of tomes, thus the Empire is gentle in its dealings with the province.

The Sages of Ambion

Scholars who choose to study at the Library are afforded certain protections, so long as they remain on its grounds and in the Emperor’s favor. The Librarians there are not concerned with Imperial politics, but they are also mindful that their physical safety lies in their continued intellectual usefulness to the Empire’s machinations.
