Zaya, a treasure hunter with a checkered past, is a Nim driven by revenge. Her mother’s murder at the hands of her father, the ruthless Lord Nesbin, left her with a deep-seated desire to reclaim her family’s legacy and dismantle the Cinnabarim Company he commandeered from their family. The mask she wears—a cursed relic infused with the Rasan spirit named Nagasiva—grants her extraordinary power, but at a steep cost to her soul.
Zaya is a disgraced Good Lady of Mariana Bay, having fallen out of favor with them after her mother's death. She discovered the mask in her mother’s sunken treasury, where Nagasiva offered her a pact: power in exchange for carrying out the spirit’s mysterious agenda. Though their goals occasionally align, Zaya refuses to be a mere pawn, using Nagasiva’s strength to achieve her own ends. Her cunning, resourcefulness, and fiery spirit make her a formidable ally, though her independence often leads to clashes with those who seek to guide her path.
Zaya’s relationship with any adventuring party would be fraught with uncertainty. Her quest for vengeance always seethes beneath the surface, and her reliance on the mask’s power may raise questions about her judgment in the long term. Even so, Zaya's insight into the Cinnabarim Company's operations and her archaeological knowledge makes her an invaluable ally when pitted against them.
