They call me Mister Loan because I always get what I'm owed.
—Kazarius, aka "Mr. Loan"
Kazarius, also known as "Mister Loan," is a Tarth with a checkered past. The heir to the house of Highgaard Kazalin, Kazarius abandoned his heritage to seek out a life free from the stifling traditions of Tarth. But this path led him to the Syndicate, a global network of mercenaries and criminals, where his ruthless efficiency and earned him his infamous moniker as a bounty hunter and enforcer of the deeds of evil men.
Kazarius' betrayal of Tarth traditions cost him dearly, severing his ties to family and community. It was the High Person Nyn who offered him a chance at redemption when he was at his lowest. Nyn saw in Kazarius a nobility that suffered under the weight of his misdeeds, and with a firm hand, she challenged him to begin the process of atonement. In return, Kazarius swore an oath to protect her, recognizing her vision as a chance to restore not only his honor, but also to bring balance to the world of ruin.
Kazarius is a towering figure of brutal strength with a dark sense of humor. He's short-tempered and oftentimes crude, but his loyalty to those he deems worthy is unshakable. While Kazarius struggles to reconcile his violent past with his new role as a protector, the once-noble Tarth views his redemption as a lifelong pursuit that he takes one battle at a time.
