About The Night's Ocean

The Night's Ocean is nearly frozen solid and stretches from the shores of Telrain and the Shadowvale to Arcanum on the other side of the world. Entirely uncharted, its extreme temperatures make it almost impossible to navigate. Airships face ice storms that make flight impossible, and seafaring vessels get stuck in constantly shifting glacial plateaus that cover huge portions of the ocean. It is rumored that in the gulf between lies a lost civilization, frozen beneath the ice.

Travelers speak of the Night's Ocean as containing sleeping abysses, out of which untold horrors have emerged and swallowed entire vessels. Most seamen will refuse to take a journey across these depths, for fear of being subject to the vengeful spirits that linger on its waters.

Adventure Hook

For the foolhardy, portions of the Night’s Ocean can be crossed on foot where ships can’t navigate. What artifact lost to time is important enough to brave the ice?
