You bear the Knife, Zed. Or should I say, the Knife bears you?

Sela is the last surviving Oracle of the disgraced House Vek. As Zed's trusted advisor, she tempers his ambition with visions of the future, guiding him to make calculated decisions in times of crisis or uncertainty.

Few can claim to know Sela well except Zed. Her cryptic utterances have saved the young Changeling's life more than once, though the cost of her visions has taken its toll on her appearance—her hair has turned white prematurely, deep lines of worry carve into her face, and a constant, low tremor shakes her hands. Zed's men gossip that she consults a Changeling shard to enhance her insights.

Sela’s calm demeanor belies a deep bitterness toward her people’s disunity. She views Zed as the last, best hope for unity, though her support is not blind; in private, she wrestles with doubt, haunted by the fall of House Vek and her role in it. Her allegiance to Zed is rooted as much in pragmatism as her belief in her own prophecies.

Adventure Hook

Sela’s priority is to ensure a future for the Changelings, and so her allegiance to Zed is tenuous at best. What happens when prophecy conflicts with the need for direct action in the present?

Sela declares that one of the party members is fated to betray the others. Her accusation causes immediate distrust among allies and undermines their cohesion. As the conflict unfolds, the party must decide whether to believe Sela’s prophecy or dismiss it as a ploy to achieve her own ends.

Is Sela’s prophecy genuine, or is she manipulating events for her benefit?
How does the accusation alter relationships within the party?
What happens if the party defies Sela’s prediction? Does it create a worse outcome, or does it expose her as fallible?
