Captain Veena Black's name precedes her like the sails of her flagship, the Dauntless. She is the granddaughter of the legendary Captain Black, who was the founder of the Prim Rose battalion. After the tragic death of her family at the hands of Rhansmarc the Cruel, Veena inherited an undying hatred for Rhansmarc the Cruel and his Black Banner pirates and rose to command the supernautical airforce of the Good Ladies of Mariana Bay.
The Battalion was in disarray with Captain Black's death due to Rhansmarc assaults against Goodwind Sands. But Veena, young and untested, stepped into the void. She reclaimed the Dauntless and rallied the fleet. Under her leadership, the Battalion regained its strength, a renewed force for good against pirates of the Outer Rim and Imperial warships alike.
Veena is no mere strategist—she is a warrior of the seas and skies, leading from the front with her rapier gleaming; her voice a clarion call above the fray. At times, her relentless pursuit of justice can border on obsession, and her uncompromising nature has made her enemies, even among allies. Yet, those who serve under Veena speak of her fairness, her willingness to fight alongside the lowest deckhand, and her uncanny ability to read the winds of both weather and war.
The shadow of Rhansmarc looms large over Veena’s life. Veena has vowed to rid the Outer Rim of his influence, and many believe that if anyone can bring lasting order to those treacherous waters, it is she.
