Magic University is all about downtime. Use expanded OSR+ mechanics to study and swap out spells, do extra credit to get rid of demerits, write home, and socialize with NPCs and other PCs. You can also join a magical fraternity or sorority, which expands your PC's magical repertoire.

Despite the ongoing "Conspiracy" behind the scenes, you play lighthearted apprentice mages fumbling through their college education. "Death" in Magic U means being sent to detention. Finally, the Overworld is host to special downtime mechanics that let you manage campus life, for your PC and the student body as a whole.

Study to change spells, shop at Flymarket outside campus, or send letters home to create meta narrative benefits. You can also use consumables (from your study notes or library books) to declare as magic scrolls in a pinch!

Parley with another PC or NPC to strengthen personal relationships (which translates into mechanical benefits) and run collaborative scenes to map discoveries on the University map.

In Magic University, hall monitors can give you Demerits, which reduce how many Fate Points you can recover. Take extra credit as an overworld action to get rid of Demerits.
