Talent

You may distribute 11 points to your attributes upon character creation, but if you do, you start with 1 fewer skill.

Combat Expertise

Technique

Icon

You may make an attack on your turn as a bonus action. This attack is made with disadvantage. As long as you have MP, you may use any attack available to you in the round as a reaction against your opponent if they attempt to disengage from your personal space, once per opponent. Such attack rolls are made with advantage.

Knight

kit

Icon

As a protector of the realm, you command a henchman who carries your equipment and is bound to protect you by oath, debt, or pact. Your henchman has 1d6 HP, 3 in all attributes, and a single skill. You may outfit them with equipment using your starting gold. They level up when you do, and are on death’s door at 0 HP. If your henchman dies, you suffer 1 wound as a result of emotional distress, and you may recruit a new one in 1d6 days. For 2 MP, you may roll a d6: on a 1 or 6, you resist any spell that targets you.

Combat

Your firm hand in riding and respect for your mount makes it a powerful ally to you. Under your command, your mount may perform a deed of valor, such as charging forward to knock down opponents, leaping heroic distances, or kicking from the front or rear. Each time your mount performs a deed, roll a riding die (d6): if the result is less than or equal to the number of deeds your mount has performed, it is exhausted and cannot perform more deeds until it receives a full night’s rest.

Known Stances

  • Stance Icon

    Code of Honor

    Active

Your strict code of honor makes you especially trustworthy at the negotiating table. When you make a check involving diplomacy or persuasion has its TN reduced one level of difficulty (a Hard task becomes Tricky), and on a success check, the outcome of at least a clean success is improved one tier (Good becomes Exceptional).

  • Stance Icon

    Faithful Mount

    Active

A trusty steed will take you far in life. You attract a faithful mount into your service, or teach a mount you own to trust you (the mount persists even if this stance is not your focus, and you cannot use this stance again unless you dismiss your mount); consult with the GM as to how long it takes to attract the mount. Unlike other mounts, a faithful mount always obeys your commands (even when under duress) and will always take action in your best interest, even to its own peril. Such a mount has 1d6 HP and 3 in all attributes. It cannot act on its own unless you sacrifice your action to command it. If the mount is slain, you may use this stance again to attract a new mount when the GM permits.

  • Stance Icon

    Horsemanship

    Passive

Your firm hand in riding and respect for your mount makes it a powerful ally to you. Under your command, your mount may perform a deed of valor, such as charging forward to knock down opponents, leaping heroic distances, or kicking from the front or rear. Each time your mount performs a deed, roll a riding die (d6): if the result is less than or equal to the number of deeds your mount has performed, it is exhausted and cannot perform more deeds until it receives a full night’s rest.

  • Stance Icon

    One-Man Army

    Active

Whether by mighty cleave, deft riposte, or smart sharpshooting, you enter the battlefield as a one-man army. When you successfully attack an opponent, you may inflict the frightened status on any number of victims allied with your opponent within a melee space of you. They are entitled to a contested Mighty check vs. your attack to retain their composure.
